April 29th-May 1st, IEMR’s Professor Alessandro Cataliotti, and PhD students Marie Haugsten Hansen and Kristine Andreassen, went to Budapest for the Frontiers in CardioVascular Biomedicine (FCVB) 2022 conference, hosted by the The ESC Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science.

Due to the pandemic, the conference had been postponed twice since 2020. Still, the conference attracted 450 participants to Budapest, Hungary for 3 days of oral sessions, moderated posters and award presentations covering the entire spectrum of cutting-edge basic and translational cardiovascular research.

Professor Alessandro Cataliotti presented (on behalf of Gustavo) the abstract “ProANP31-67 ameliorates adverse cardiac remodeling and improves systolic and diastolic functions in a preclinical model of cardiorenal syndrome” in the moderated poster session 9 – Drugs.

Marie Haugsten Hansen presented the abstract “The effects of genetic ablation of CaMKII oxidation on early ischemia-reperfusion arrhythmias in langendorff-perfused hearts” in the moderated poster 2 award session, and Kristine Andreassen presented the  abstract “Beneficial effects of exercise training on expression of fibrosis-related genes in a mouse model of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy” in the Semmelweis University moderated poster award session, for which she received 2nd place.

The FCVB conference also hosted social and networking events, including a beautiful river cruise on the Danube.
